Farmers Markets and CSA’s have done a remarkable job to ensure the survival of small sustainable farming over the past decade. But finding a way forward for restaurants to source more easily from local farms has not been as successful.

Fork & Shovel’s goal is to provide sustainable smaller farms, ranches, and specialty purveyor’s access to supportive restaurant kitchens within their food shed. The promise of a larger customer base will hopefully allow these farmers to grow more food and raise more animals, to contract plant, and to enter into supporting long term relationships with a most appreciative customer – the passionate chef.
